Yes, good idea if you have experienced height issues before…I’m lucky I am tall but I do like the cushion idea as most often the event places use folding chairs.

I vote to take it. It's your comfort that is important. Several girls bring their own chair when we have retreats.

I don't bring my chair but I have seen it done. I do bring a big fluffy pillow for the seat and sometimes I put it behind my back. The white plastic folding chairs seats tilt back and aren't really comfortable sitting forward. It can get quite uncomfortable after a while.

I bought furniture moving casters from Harbor Freight that the folding chair legs fit into, worked great for moving around and added some height. I brought a seat and back cushion, adding a little bit more height. Then I always take a compression rod to put under the banquet table to make the table stable under my Machine. (I always get stuck with the spot in the middle of a table or the position where i have to put my machine in the "bendy"portion with no support. I also purchase a clip on side table that has one leg......works great for ironing station. MAKE MY NEST,,,then I'm ready to learn and sew Ha!

I don't go to retreats, I do like a comfortable sewing chair.
