I found the following poem, author unknown, in a magazine and have paraphrased it to fit quilters. This might explain our need to buy fabric.

    Quilty Lady
    I canceled out the paper.
    I stopped the milkman, too.
    I fired my trusty gardener.
My own hair I now do.
The only things I buy now
    Each time the eagle flies.
    Are the necessary groceries
And a ton of quilt supplies.
