I dust and vacuum when I do the rest of the house and I put things away when I'm finished with a project, but in the 8 years my studio has been a separate room unto itself, I've never felt any need to reorganize it (it used to be the living room and it has no door to close it off).

After looking at my room today, it's time to clean.

It is never a planned time for me. It usually happens because I am procrastinating over something else. It's kind of the "Squirrel" reaction when I should be concentrating on the task at hand.

Once a year I do a deep hose cleaning room by room. If I am not willing to pack it up and move 2000 miles and live in a 2 bedroom apartment it goes. Trash, yard sale, or donation. Yes I have a large stash, and lots of extras, and this does not mean my imaginary 2 bedroom apartment doesn't have very large rooms and is packed to the ceiling. Every year I get rid of a little bit more, and find lots I thought lost. My goal this year was to get back into just 2 rooms ad still be able to find everything. I DID IT!!!!

I straighten up before a new project. Last year i arranged my room for the first time and I pull out a lot of fabric when I am working out the colors for a project and then my table is full of stuff so I need to place items back but it is never completely spic and span.....it is creating.

I do it when my space or stuff begins to bother me. Or I will work my way around the room as time and mood permit...

I clean up after each project and put things where they belong.

I straighten up my sewing room when I am thinking about which project I am going to work on. I am not ready to sell and ,ove away so I will be sewing for awhile.
