In my experience a good long arm quilter would make suggestions on how to quilt it. I always discuss quilting options when I have my work quilted by someone else.

I agree that if you wanted to give hand quilting a try, this would be a good size to start on. I also think this would be a good size for you to try some home machine quilting. I tend to be very linear and my first thought was to follow the seam lines in the cream fabric so that the lines radiated away from the women (like rays of sunshine). For her clothing. I might do a couple lines of shadow quilting - maybe 3/4" each. Depending how that looked, I would first stencil some form of curls or waves for her face, hair and the outside border to see how it looked. Very nice, I really like the 3D look.
