Default HQ Avante 18 tension mechinisim loose

The tension mechinisim came loose on my HQ Avante 18 today. Has anyone else had that problem? I was adjusting the tension, and the whole mechinisim started turning. It is like it came loose from the casting of the machine, but has not fallen off. I was hoping to fix it so I could use it over the weekend.

Thanks for any help.

I don't have this particular brand but the assembly probably has a nut or a set screw since it has to be attached. I know on my Gammill there is a nut that I tighten to secure the assembly but I do have to make sure that the spring is in the correct position.

I don't have the Avante, but have always found HQ very helpful with just a phone call. In one instance I even sent on a picture and they answered right away. I literally can't say enough about their support.

I think there is a nut too, I just hope it is not on the inside and have to break the machine open to get to it. I think it is still under warranty, so they can do it where I bought it.

I am planning on calling the sewing center I got it from on Monday, and also sending a e-mail or call HQ on Monday. Things always happens on weekends. And I had my heart all set to LA, and this happens. What a bummer.
