I love that! I generally prefer borders and usually do a narrow, then a wider one. I always "audition" border fabrics because sometimes I find a better option than my first thoughts. Another alternative would be to do a flange binding. I think maybe a brown flange and green or tan binding. Be sure to show us what you decide!

I think quilters are way too hung up on borders these days. I like your quilt just the way it is.

Honestly I would add a scrappy binding and just enjoy this lovely piece. Can't live with a scrappy binding? choose one of the colors that pops out of the quilt and use it or make it .... black!. Nice use of HST and scraps! Two of MY favorites!

I would add a border for two reasons - you want it bigger, or you want one of the colors to dominate. Those are generally the only reasons I will add borders. If neither applies, then no border is fine. If this were my quilt, I would probably "big it up" with the orange or the bright blue.

How pretty! Love your top!! While this doesn't need a border, I'd probably put one on simply for the utility of it. If it's for a lap quilt, hands are going to be touching all those seams that may come apart with wear. I'd go for a darker outer border--again because of being handled and possible soiling.

Well, I think borders frame a quilt. I wouldn't hang a bare picture without a frame on my wall or sit it on my dresser. So yes, one or two borders in various sizes would help this quilt. I'm thinking you should try a thin light border than a darker outer border.
