you might have a wire loose. you should take it in to the singer repair shop if you can't do it yourself. you got a bargain, because they are selling for a lot more than $80.

Got my FW in the mail yesterday! Won "Sweetie Pie" on eBay auction. Wasn't expecting to will but no one bid against me! She's a Centinnal edition from 1946, I believe. Runs quietly and all original parts including foot pedal and cord. Case is not the best and needs a tray. Also have ordered all the attachments for "Sweetie Pie". Here are a few pics...

Thanks! And I love the FW. It's like a little treasure I found especially since no one bid against me. That has never happened before and I always lost. Guess it was meant for me!!!
