I purchased this machine on E-bay. Never having had an Embroidery machine before, I did not realize the purchase did not include the embroidery unit, Read/writer, hoops, large arm attachment, Etc.... that were included with the original machine. I am unable to embroidery with this machine. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I may obtain the "rest of my machine". I want to make buyers beware when they are purchasing a used machine. Do your research to make sure you are. Getting everything you should with the machine.

This machine when new came with the embroidery unit but the other things you are mentioning did not come with it. I would check with them again and see if they have the unit. It is a great machine ( I have 2 of them). It should include the hoop also for the 4 inch size.

Ditto,
Viking Rose came with the small hoop & you had to "purchase" the embroidery "cards" which were very expensive. The reader/writer came out at a later date & had to be purchased separately.

You should get everything that was LISTED in the eBay auction by the seller. You're not paying for anything else except those items.

And if those items WERE listed, and you didn't get them, that's a whole other issue. ;-)

Welcome!

Thank you everyone who responded, and welcomed me! I receive the item listed on E-bay; I just did not realize it required a seperate unit to embrodiery.

MTS is correct in her explanation about ebay. Unfortunately, often the sellers have no idea what they are talking about. They do not sew and have no clue what a machine should have. I saw a listing last week where the seller said he cut off the rubber band because it was frayed. He should have said he cut off the motor belt, so now he could not test the machine.
Your Viking Rose may just become a very pricy sewing machine, sans embroidery. Not easy to get just that unit and they cost like $700 or $800. Sorry, but you should have
done a bit more comparison shopping before you confirmed that bid on ebay. Check with your nearest Viking dealer to see what options you may still have, and good luck.
