Know what? One thing mite keep it from wearing off. When you 1st get one, take some clear contact paper and cover the whole printed side with it! :)

Go get a bottle of clear nail laquer and a paintbrush, pour the laquer into a plastic cup or something you dont mind tossing, and paint away! The laquer will be what wears off, instead of the numbers. I'd get the kind that is supposed to resist chipping.

I think it would be easier to just buy extra rulers to have. I've noticed my favorite rulers are hard to find after a few years.

all tools wear out with use..when your marks are disappearing or your edges are no longer smooth it is time for a new one :thumbup:

Yes, I have the same problem. My MIL has the same ruler, bought at about the same time, and hers is in much better shape. I don't know if it is just that I use mine more, or if I'm hard on rulers in some way.
