Great Haul! What a wonderful hubby to mention going. Perfect sale haul. Look at it this way, if the sale hadn't been on you would have walked away with less than half that amount.

Are they closing or did they sell to someone else? I went on their website, and it looks like business as usual?

The company that purchased it about 2 years ago is closing the brick and mortar store completely. I was told that they were going to open another store in NC somewhere but it would not be anything like the Center Harbor store. which had three huge areas filled with cases three bolts high. Their own store (Pineapple Quilts) that they had put into the next door retail space was filled with all precuts and "free patterns" Each wall had bags of coordinated precuts and on that wall were several patterns that used that particular assortment of precuts. The gal that cut my fabric said they were told the new proposed retail space would be a much smaller mixture of the two stores. They will still have an online presence but who know what that will eventually look like.

I always shudder when I hear of a LQS closing. We've lost 5 in the last 4 years.

I also belong to the fabric moratorium,.....however.....Lolly's annual pajama sale is coming up. It's eleven miles away. I lost a ruler at Bonnie Hunter's retreat and if I go there are get another one, I'll probably find my old one.

I agree but this one I think of as one of the bastions of quilting and its closing is kind of the end of an era.
