Default I can finally stipple!

Despite repeated attempts and even taking a class specifically on FMQ, I could never stipple on my DSM. Well, I recently purchased a long arm and I am so thrilled to say that my stippling looks really good! It's so easy and natural to move the long arm rather than moving the quilt. I know it's different for each person, and I'm so glad to have found the right choice for me!

My DD is expecting a baby (my first grandchild!) and asked me to stipple her crib quilt! She preferred my stippling to any of the computer designs I can do!

Unfortunately, all other types of FMQ on the long arm is still a challenge, but with time, I hope to master all kinds of skills. It's been a good quilting day!

Yippee! I've have my LA machine since last June, and I love to stipple with it. I actually thought that following the lines of a pattern would be so much easier, but free-hand stippling is much less stressful. Some day I would love to learn how to do feathering and other awesome quilting techniques, but for now I'm thrilled to just stipple!

I am happy for you. I have a hard time stippling on my DSM also. Show us a picture please.

That is great! When I first started, I thought stippling was very difficult. I had better results with swirls and loops, so I perfected those first. Now my stippling is good too. Keep at it! You'll get there.

I'm quite technology challenged, so I don't even want to try posting a picture. I probably should learn that someday, but for now I don't even know how to use our camera or for that matter, where it's at....

I chose the Pfaff PowerQuilter P3. I got it at my favorite LQS. It was more expensive than the others I considered, but I know the shop offers above and beyond service and I like dealing with people who know me and my unique personality. I receive individual weekly classes tailored to my learning style and I am able to call my instructor with questions through out the day when I get stuck or something doesn't feel right. In the end, I wanted the peace of mind of knowing that I would be actually be able to use my new long arm. DH said he knew months ago that this was the right choice for me. He was just waiting for me to go through all the phases of panic and worry about spending so much money.
