You need to be careful with that kind of injury: the problem is the needle goes in and out so quickly, it creates a puncture wound, which seals itself up just as quickly. Now, all of the bacteria is trapped inside, and it can get infected.

The needle went in and stayed in. I had to manually turn the wheel to get it out and boy, did it ever bleed.

I have never done it. My mother did though and I remember her telling me how painful it was. Wounded is what you are now. Hope it heals soon.

I haven't sewn my finger...yet! But, I nicked myself with the rotory cutter not once, but twice! Bled like anything. Had a fit because it dripped on the fabric I'm working on! I feel for you though. I've whacked myself with a knife and had to have stitches. OUCH!

Oh you were lucky mine was stuck to the point I had to call 911 to have them cut the needle then pull it out. And I was in my jamies no bra hair so big it had it's own zip code and they were the 9 cutest firemen I had ever seen!!!

I ran over a safety pin when I was FMQ last Wednesday. I wasn't paying attention, the needle broke most spectacularly. Glad I wear glasses. I have cut myself 2x with the rotary cutter, on the same finger. I feel your pain.

My daughter put sewing machine needle through her thumb as a curious toddler -- neither of us has done it in the last 30 years!
