I either have a very short memory or I must really have liked 'them'!!

You and I both!. I am always forgetting what I have here and go and get more. I can be panels, which I have yet to make, or books or any thing. It's the online buying that gets me mixed up the most. I am more prone to buying duplicates of things on line as I forget I ordered something and order it again. So my dear you are not alone,,

I have not found any duplicates I forgot about. If I buy duplicates it is on purpose, because I want it.
My fabrics are folded by ruler method and stacked on wire shelves in a closet. Easy for me to see what I have.

I haven't bought duplicate panels, but fabric is a different story. I bought the same feather fabric 3, yes, three times. Used it as a border on a quilt, then decided to use it as a backing on another. Pieced it all together... Oops...don't have enough, so will search and order again... I think my memory has started to go!

I'm turning 61 on Sunday and I've definitely noticed a difference in my "fabric memory." Twice in the last year I've bought the same fabric twice, fortunately they were only half yards, but it still made me feel like I was losing it. I started quilting when I was 14 so it's been a lot of years that I hadn't done that!
