Maybe you were planning on doing the panels in chenille work, and you would need 3 or 4 of the same design?

You and I both!. I am always forgetting what I have here and go and get more. I can be panels, which I have yet to make, or books or any thing. It's the online buying that gets me mixed up the most. I am more prone to buying duplicates of things on line as I forget I ordered something and order it again. So my dear you are not alone,,

I have not found any duplicates I forgot about. If I buy duplicates it is on purpose, because I want it.

My fabrics are folded by ruler method and stacked on wire shelves in a closet. Easy for me to see what I have.

Ssh it's an age thing... I am trying to celebrate my age rather than bemoan the various challenges it brings. My advice is to laugh and be grateful that we can continue to enjoy our quilting.

So true. What does it matter if duplicates are bought. No one's business anyway. LOL

Around here, we always say that either, "I put it somewhere logical" or "I put it somewhere safe" means you will never see it again.

Or, as soon as you buy "I put it somewhere safe and/or logical" you will come across it.

I haven't bought duplicate panels, but fabric is a different story. I bought the same feather fabric 3, yes, three times. Used it as a border on a quilt, then decided to use it as a backing on another. Pieced it all together... Oops...don't have enough, so will search and order again... I think my memory has started to go!

I'm turning 61 on Sunday and I've definitely noticed a difference in my "fabric memory." Twice in the last year I've bought the same fabric twice, fortunately they were only half yards, but it still made me feel like I was losing it. I started quilting when I was 14 so it's been a lot of years that I hadn't done that!
