Default I got a Cricuit for Christmas

Hello fellow quilters. My oldest daughter bought me a Cricuit for Christmas. I use to watch the Shopping Channel when they showed how to use them and thought it was interesting. Now I have one. They say you can use it to cut patterns out of material for quilts, but I'm a little nervous about trying it. It's still in the box. Haven't even opened it yet. She also bought me pattern insert for doing car decals, you know the ones you can stick on the inside of your windows. My daughters all want some for their cars. Now I just have to figure out how to use it. Does anyone else have a Cricuit? Do you get a lot of use out of it. I know it good for making cards and stuff. I just hope that I use it. I don't want to make my daughter feel bad. I know that they are expensive.

Yes, I have a Cricut but have never used it for cutting material, just stickly scrapbooking and come to think of it...it's been almost 2 years since I've used it! Some how fabric and 2 sewing machines have taken over my scrapbooking space!! LOL

I have one, but haven't used it for fabric yet, was actually thinking about that today.

I have the Cricut Expression machine for about 2 years now and it works well, but I also need to learn how to use it better. I was using it mostly for scrapbooking. The fabric cutting part is great! Have fun with yours!

Try asking for a cricut spatula in the Walmart. The girl looked appalled and said, "why would you want to cook them?" Get it out and try it on some paper and make some Valentine cards for the kids. If you think it will work for fabric, try one layer and see.
