This is a perfectly beautiful quilt! Hope to see pictures with the quilting. Sorry, I have no advice about washing it.

I would wash it in my washer and only put in usual amount of detergent. Maybe rinse it twice and dry it.

I use cold water tide, cold water and dry on low. You may have to pull out and reinsert quilt until dry.

I spread on my bed or on my glass topped dining table overnight.

Never had a problem with washable Crayola markers not coming out.

By the way that is a gorgeous top. Perfect piecing.

Thanks, all. You gave me the courage to wash it in our washer and all the marks came out. So, I've laid it out on our bed. I still have to put a label on it but it's done. The wedding is in April so I'm ready.

It's easier to see the quilting from the back so the last picture is a picture of that.

By the way, this quilt is all paper piecing. The name of it is 'An Unusual Lone Star Quilt' by Karen K Stone.

    Pretty quilt!
I had to use Shout to get out the red washable Crayola markers. In my home machine.

When I need to wash a quilt, I take it to the laundromat to use a front loader.. I have a top loader- large tub- at home but always feel like there is too much twisting and pulling, esp with a large quilt. I have had good luck with this so far.
