Lisa, I hope you continue to improve.
Here are a couple of posts on QB that particularly caught my eye recently. They don't have instructions, but both of them look as though they'd be easy to imitate and alter to suit your own style.
This one posted by woody is a half log cabin with dark and light hst's - very dramatic and modern: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t183633.html
And this one, pieced by Prairie Quilter that was posted by Charisma is also a different twist on an old technique. I just love everything about it, especially the way Charisma's quilting enhances it: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...a-t184477.html
There have been many other beautiful quilts. I think you might want to browse through the Pictures forum. The inspirations are endless. Happy quilting!

Illness makes it very hard to get back in the swing of things, hopefully you are getting better, sounds like you are feeling so much better. I'm looking forward to the pictures of the things you made during your recovery. Glad to see you back.

Last year Ifound out that I needed to be on oxygen. I was told I would need the oxygen the rest of my life. It was really a downer for me but I gave myself a good talking too. I don't know when I'll be using it 24 hours a day but I will handle it when it comes. Keep up with your quilting and any other thing that is fun.
prayers to you,
Carole
