Default I need to enlarge a block

I need to make a bird block bigger. It is a 6 inch block & I need a 12.5 ( 12 inch finished).Do I just double the size of the pieces. Is it that simple. A 12 inch non paper pieced would be better, I just can't seem to find one.

I would double the size on your printer or copy machine and then add in your seam allowances.

Is the 6" block the finished size?? You need to double the block to twice it's size and then add in the seam allowance because you don't want to have a 1/2" seam allowance. This is where Electric Quilt comes in so handy.

I was hoping for a Cardinal, any 12 inch block will do.

Here is a PP Cardinal that is 5" in size.

You could make a 10" blcoks and then put a border around the block to make it 12" or you could print the pattern out and draw 5" grid. Then draw out a 12" square and try to best divide that into a 5 section grid. Then transfer what is drawn in each square into each of the squares into the bigger block. Hope this makes sense. I took drafting in college.
