I have finally heard back regarding the cardboard used on our bolts - it is acid free. The fabric can safely on the bolt indefinitely.

Thank you.

it makes storing fabric so much eaier when u can put on cardbosrd...and if you have room to either lay or stand them on shelves...I converted a closet justfor that.

I did all of my stash on cardboard I ordered on line and was told it was acid free but I wasn't too worried as I intend to use it all before it could get harmed. But yes I love the way it looks stored pluse I can find what I am looking for quickly.

my husband bought me a few packs of comic book boards--acid free and they work wonderfully for cute little bolts! :)

Where did he find the comic book boards? Would really like to get some myself. Thanks. T

Comic book boards are cheap and can be found online. Buy the archival ones. I think I got 500 in a package. Many different boards do great but I switched over to the polar boards. They hold the fabric in place and are a one time purchase. The other boards will bend, get frayed edges, have no way of holding the fabric without pins, clips or bands. This matter to me more then the cost.

Bolts are nice but take up quite a bit of space on shelves. I fold my around the ruler and then just slip it out.
