I once spent hours and hours cutting up scraps into manageable strips and squares. It didn't make anymore room in my bins even though I purchased new bins specifically for the new strips. I'm pretty sure I could make only scrappy quilts for several years and not use all my scraps.

They don't decompose, it's the Sock Gnomes that invade your house after the Sand Man comes. They steal one sock but feel bad and leave some fabric scraps behind.
You know those pairs of socks that you put in the washing machine and only 1 sock comes out? Well, it is fairly well known in this house that those single socks decompose into quilting scraps and tip toe from the laundry room in the middle of the night and creep into my scrap pile.

If I mention to the dogs I am short of a special fabric suddenly it or another turns up by my feet. During the night sometimes a fabric I haven't seen for ages will also appear including bras skirts trousers etc.on morning my tv handset was in bed with me. Oh and cushions and pillows more around the house. I assume if I had children it would be Mr Nobody.
