Just saw Gypsy Sampler at http://www.calicocarriage.com/ . It reminded me of your design wall. It may give you some ideas.

Thanks so much! What I will do is pick ONE thing to do to that wall, like yall have suggested. I LIKE the idea of kitchen stuff, but it would be great for me to practice some quilting too. I have at least six tops that need to be sandwiched and quilted. I actually got batting and thread for two of them today at hancocks, with a great sale and a coupon and some birthday funds! =))
SO . . . those two will be my carrot and that wall will be my stick. I'll take those big four apart, and blue-up the lonestar and hexagon. then look again!
I am waiting on those two links to load to see those ideas!!
LOVE this board, and all of you ladies!! =))

ok . . Newbee, I did pull some of them off the wall. the mostly pale colored blocks, and one that was not pictured, because it isn't quite sewn together! It was so 'off' I thought I would 'fix' it, but . . . . some of the material that matched those that was on the wall is off, and in that pile also. the four blocks in the corner are down, and deconstructed. Three of them are in that pile. The darkest one is all I had of that dark, so I need to hold it for a bit. I do have more material that matches stuff than I thought. Thank goodness, because it is a mess! I added corners to the star, and it is so NOT square!! You ladies that do hexies have even MORE respect from me. Wow. No more Y seams for me. I can do them, but not for fun!! Newbee, the cubed bit is in your pile too!! I re-arranged the wall, trying to get the star in the middle. I'll take another picture after lunch. So far, it has not been fun. =//

ta da! here is a new picture. see anything that just needs to come down? anything that just doesn't blend in?
I do not have any white. Should I get some for the background for all of this?
Should I separate the pinwheel clusters at all?
thoughts?
thanks ladies

Irishrose, I think you picked it. When I had the star off my wall, the rest looked better somehow. And, if I take the 'squaring up' off, and make it a table topper, I'll be trying a new kind of corners with binding it! That fits the whole 'practice' thing, doesn't it? =))
