Ideas for a Three Color Quilt???

I think a simple geometric, any of those suggested including the D9P, is best for a young person rather than anything too traditional. Don't know your guy, but in my experience, modern kids prefer modern designs. Gail's is really perfect if put in your colors.

I just finished a Carpenter's Star quilt with 3 colours & it turned out fabulous. Not knowing the shades & pattern of your fabric, this may work or it may NOT work. They suggest a light, a medium shade & a dark shade for the Star to be the focal point of the quilt. It was easy & fairly quick to do depending on the quilting you do. Google Carpenter's Star & you will see example's of this quilt & can download the pattern.

tesspug, I love the quilt you posted the link for. That is exactly what I want to do. I purchased my black/white fabric last week at Hancock's. Thanks for sharing.
FYI: Hancock's has some great sale prices on quilting fabrics this month. Check with your local stores. (No, I am not associated with Hancock's)

I would probably go for a disappearing nine patch. I'm very partial to them. I would use the "touch of blue" as the center block, the gray for the corners and the yellow for the sides. I think it would be striking!! Ann
