Well, I received my kit for Judy Niemeyer's Bali Wedding Star in the mail the other day. The colors are stunning and it is intricate. I CANT WAIT!!!

I have lost all interest in my current project that is only about a third done. I found myself digging through the directions of the Bali quilt last night instead of piecing the current top.

I promised myself that I would finish the current wallhanging by Friday of Memorial Day weekend and then I would start the Bali but that seems just an eternity away. So tonight right after dinner, I am going to dig in.
I think you have different insiration on differnet days. Some days you feel like finishing that simple 9-patch. Other days, you have more energy and creativity to get into something more complex. You have to go with it! You'll get back to your other projects - you might get weary of the current project and go back to other ones - it all works out. No rules RULES!

Katherine Hepburn had a saying something like "If you live by the rules, you miss all the fun." Go for it!

Sometimes I'll put a "work in progress" away and move on to something else but I always go back and finish it. If I'm not inspired, it's a chore to work on a particular top. I always get reinspired after a break. Oh, I have the "Bali Wedding Star" pattern "box" too! I'm excited to choose fabric for it and begin! I think this quilt will take a long time to complete and I think it will be on that I'll have to put away, work on something else and then take it out again. I get bored looking at and working on the same thing for an extended time - maybe it's ADD!!
Anyway, don't worry about putting something away - just don't start several!! Good luck!

I did too! This is to die for! I also looked at other quilts on quiltsbythebay.com SOOO MANY BEAUTIFUL THINGS TO DO! I wish I were a lot younger than 71. I am not sure I have enough time to do all I want!

I've lived by Ms. Hepburn's quote for many years (see my signature line).

:)

I say, go for it! The wallhanging will be waiting for you when you are ready to return to it.
