Your table runner is beautiful. I love the colors.

That was very sweet that you listened to everything your SIL was "trying to teach you". :-P It probably made her feel good, you know?? Anyway, beautiful job on your runner!!!

I honestly don't think she meant it as an insult. Not being a quilter, she really has no concept and she was trying to save you some time and energy NOT realizing that you revel in the "tedium."

I am happy anytime I can learn something new, whether I like it or not at the moment. Plus, your standings in the family will be upgraded if you appear appreciative.

That is so pretty and I think you did a great job quilting it. I hope she was just trying to be helpful.

Lori,

What a gorgeous piece. Thanks for including the close up of your hand quilting so I can drool! If this is the work you do as a newbie, I want to see your efforts in another . . . 6 months. Ha!

Once I made my MIL a set of hand-quilted placemats. She said "These look store-made!" I was so insulted, but in retrospect I know she meant it as a compliment. Now that I can no longer quilt by hand, I wish I had those placemats back. . .

We have a German Shepherd,a beagle, and a red Doberman mix. I was amazed at how much our shepherd and Dobie looked like your dogs! It was like looking at a picture of an "alternate universe"! LOL!
