A little while ago my daughter called me from Walmart. She said they were remodeling the store and had the gondolas put in place and was ready to bring in the fabric. She said it was as large as the one we used to have. I have been doing the happy dance...The store is less than 1/2 mile from me and that is great for this old lady. Hope others are starting to get their stores back.

Ours has never gotten rid of the fabric department, but they have told the employees it will be gone within a year.

I went last wk and asked...And YES they are getting ready to put it back by middle of July...Can't wait...so missed it. Sales Lady said that the main office got so many requests for the fabric to come back...Also the Heads did a study and found that there really aren't many other shops around anymore where we sewers can just pick up things like buttons, zippers, fabric etc...

I went in to our Walmart yesterday to get some onion rings from the deli (they are cheap and they taste really good)...I happened to see one of the ladies that use to work in the fabric department there...she was a greeter at the door...so I asked her if fabric bolts were coming back. She said she hasn't heard anything about it, but if they do, she will be glad to cut my fabric for me again.

I was in the one in Vestal, NY Wednesday and they are revamping the whole quilting section. Several new bolts of fabric, adding several more shelves. It really looks like they plan to enlarge it quite a bit. Hopefully, they will bring back the patterns also!
