It was during a visit to Maine many years ago, that I became interested in quilting. I was very impressed with how the artists were selling their ideas and kits at a fair. I guess it would have been one of the early quilt shows and we did not have anything like that in Australia at the time. I was was amazed at the beautiful quilts that were for sale for only $150. During my journey homeward, I saw the same types of quilts for sale in California for $4,000...too late to run back to Maine.
