Try www.craigslist.com and under crafts in your area.
    Also freecycle in your area.
I saw baskets of good fabric at my local Goodwill recently

Try freecycle.org for a group in your area. make sure when you post that you explain what you need it for.

I've seen lots of sites that have clearance sections where their fabric runs from $2.00 yrd. upwards. You can only beat that at yard sales/free cycle.... Good luck!

Online try fabric.com Free shipping over $35, good quality, lots at 3.99/yard. WalMart is doing away with their fabric section because they have to have a person there to cut. The rest of the store just needs someone to stock the shelves. Only electronics and paint have people.

Thqanks so much for all the suggestions, our Goodwill never has fabric, at least not when I have checked, and our salvation army has a little. I think I am the biggest contributor of fabric to both of those places, but I will sure check the other places out. Everytime I go in Wally world some one is complaining in the fabric department that all they have anymore is polar fleece. Even Hancock seems to be taking up more room in their store with furniture and lamps etc. Since I have joined this board most fabric has came from online, I did get a wonderful box of fabric from one of the members on this board. Already did one kids top and started another one and found a couple of more places that need quilts also. I am afraid my house has suffered, but who cares? It is so windy here lately that I think I may open the doors and windows and maybe all the crap will blow out and head east.LOL

Connecting Threads is having some fabrics 50% off. That makes them a great price. Check it out.
