I just read that the International Quilting Show is going to be in Chicago April 16-18.

I was thinking about going, but wondered if anyone has ever been and if it's worth the 4 hour drive? I'm assuming so, but just wanted people's opinions. :)

I've been to the Pacific International Quilt Festival several times and always came home happy that I went. But, then again it's only a half hour away.

You will be inspired and awed.

These are the same people that do the one in Long Beach, California. It is well worth the drive. Comfy shoes, go early, leave late.

prepare to be overwelmed! I have been 4 times taking the train into Chicago from Michigan. Just loved it. Stayed right across from the Stevens center. They have special sections that they call "make it, take it" which are so much fun. You get to take what you make. I would personally plan on staying overnight somewhere, its hard to do in one day

DH took me last year, it is a great show. You will not be sorry. Quilts are amazing and the vendors are many.

I have gone the last 4 years in a row and am planning to go this year. You will love the show and everything there. Beautiful quilts, wonderful vendors, ideas everywhere.....the walls are dripping with creativity!!! It is worth the trip. Wear comfortable shoes and take lots of money!!!!

I'm going! I posted lots of photos from the show last year. This is a terrific show, not quite as good as Houston or Paducah, but still wonderful. I'll be there on Friday, maybe Sat. depends on how my feet and credit cards feel.

I only live 15 minutes away! (then again, I live right on the border of chicago, and this is located in rosemont, but a lot of people from Chicago say something is 15 minutes away... and it could be even more.)

I may go to this... depends on if I have money or not.
