    Default Quilt Marking

Please tell me there's an easier way to quilt X's on blocks, without marking them all!!! I am working on a simple scrap lap quilt, 6 blocks x 7 blocks. I just want to X the blocks. Any ideas!!!

If you're not hung up on having straight lines, you can quilt curved x's and pretend that's what you wanted all along. They'll look great!

You could try masking tape - just don't leave the tape on overnight.

There is a special tape on the market that is made for quilting but painter's tape works too. You could also eyeball the lines. I've done one where I used a thin ruler and a hera marker to "draw" the line (or rather make an imprint of the line).

I use a walking foot but I always eyeball the lines. Works fine for me.

how big are your blocks? you could "mark" a line (an indentation) on them with a Hera marker. I know, it's still marking but nothing to wash out or erase.

I'd use tape - masking tape sticks better to fabric in my opinion better than painters tape. Just use a piece a bit longer that your block and then you can just line up the edges of the tape with the points of your block then press it down.
