DONE!! The two double-sized quilts are quilted and bound! Now, in the evenings when they go to bed, I can do the hand stitching. Tomorrow I plan on quilting the small wall hanging and on Friday I can make the 6 hour lap quilt pattern I found on Joann's. Then, I am done!!

OK, I haven't been back in the sewing room since Tuesday. Wednesday DH was home so I spent that day wrapping presents while he proctored the girls' tests. Yesterday I baked cookies for my quilting group's Christmas party and came home to my 7 year old puking. And, in the middle of the night last night, I realized she had shared that bug with me. Oh, joy. So, today, on this last day of school before break, I'm letting my youngest watch science videos and sign language videos and my oldest will be working on some research assignments that will not require me too much.

All I have left for quilting is to quilt the crib-sized wall hanging for my youngest, most of which is SID and a little stippling and to bind it. Then I have to put together the lap quilt for my oldest. I wanted to make her this: http://www.joann.com/static/project/0801/P488305.pdf But, I can't get my printer to enlarge like that. I had planned on going to the library today but with a stomach bug, we're staying home. So, I sketched out what I thought would work on large sheets of kraft paper and plan to "wing" it, pardon the pun. Instead of piecing all those strips, I'm just going to use a large piece of cloth and quilt along those lines to make it appear pieced. Here's to hoping I can accomplish this, today.

I...ran...out...of...thread! On the last quilt! I was using this variegated thread that I bought on clearance sale at our local LQS so I know they don't have anymore. My only hope is to go to Joann's while I'm out on Wednesday and hope they have something similar. As for the other three quilts, 1 large quilt is finished entirely and the wallhanging is half done with the hand stitching. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow and finish the hand quilting on the 2nd large quilt by Tuesday night. Wednesday I have to be out most of the day but on Thursday and Friday I hope to finish all of the last quilt...yikes!!

One stitch at a time! You're doing great. I think that you'll do it. Go, go, go. Yea!

I homeschool my son. He's only in the 4th grade and still so much of it is adult-led. I think sometimes people think you just prop a book in front of them and let them go at it. We are also both very serious piano students so the days can be very long.

My husband took my son out of town for a chess tournament this fall and I finally finished a top I had made for the little guy 2 years ago. It's the only time I could do it--so I feel your pain.

Those little set -up things really take much more time than you realize. You're smart to have everything all ready to go.

Have a great holiday and good luck!

WOW!! I hope you get them finished. That is a lot of "work", but sounds like you have a great plan. Wish I had half of your energy, maybe I could get at least one thing finished before Christmas!!!

The hand stitching on the 2 large quilts and the wall hanging is all done. Now, I just need to go get the variegated thread on Wednesday and finish quilting the lap quilt. There's very little hand stitching on that quilt so I'm hoping it will be done by Wednesday night or early Thursday morning...fingers crossed!
