Try hanging your pictures with needles or straight pins. Put them in at a fairly sharp angle and you'd be surprised how much weight they will old. Makes just a little hole in the wall that can be "pressed" out with your finger or fixed with a dab of white toothpaste. Of course, this does not work on plastered walls but, it does on drywall!
