I sent my daughter money for Christmas and she bought a sewing machine she has needed for years. She is an avid sewer and has played with her old machine for years and it finally froze up and would go no further. One might say it kicked the bucket. She got her machine and asked if she could take it out of the box and use it. Of course the answer was YES! She had waited too long for this. Her husband wouldn't let her get one and he took the money I sent her last year. Divorced now. Yeah!!

My daughter lives in England now (I'm in America) and is finally showing interest in sewing. I've been spending WAY too much time on EbayUK, trying to buy her a good used machine for Christmas! (They have different current there, so it's just simpler to get her an English machine.) If I ever can win a bid on a decent machine for her, I'll be so happy. I wish I could be there to teach her all the sewing stuff she never paid attention to while she lived at home.

I am right there with you. I am getting a darning and 1/4 inch foot for my 301A. I can't wait to try FMQ on it!! I also got my DGD a sewing machine. You gave me a perfect idea about getting some fq's for her. I may get her her own little sewing box and scissors to use with it.

Christmas is the best time of year!!
my only wish is to have my family close by for at least a couple of hours.
It is hard for everyone. especially when they have to visit all of the families.

i am pretty easy, i do not care when we get to spend time together as long as we get some time

i hope my nieces and me great niece like their new quilts!!

I believe in the spirit of Christmas for sure!!!!

Last weekend my new(for me) Brother Embroidery machine arrived 1/2 on Saturday and the rest Sunday morning. ( the friend who sold it to me forgot the carriage for the hoops. we spent 2 hours trying to put the CD onto my computer and gave up. It cost me $20 for my daughter to come and set it up. My friend gave me everything that went with it plus heaps of extras. I need to finish making book bags for my GD and GN and the hand bag for my sister first then I will be playing until I get used to it. My friend will then come back and show me how to make longer patterns. I have paid for it all myself.DH buys his own Karoake stuff so I but what I want. You are lucky that you r husbands bought the new sewing machine.

Let us know how she likes her new sewing machine. What a wonderful gift from her Mama!
