Good for you. I have a small quilt my husband pieced by hand when he was age 10. Its in tatters now as he is 78 but never even think of throwing it out. Men are not apt to ask questions but let me tell you they are watching. He has an excellent color sense and even built me a quilting frame.

I can hardly wait until you post a picture of this quilt. I'm planning to do one with a boat with a man doing fishing with fish in the water.

The quilt we are making is an underwater scene with corals, grasses, tropical fish, sea turtles and a big shark looming behind the grasses and a scuba diver going for a big shark tooth on the sandy bottom. DH is a diver and collects sharks teeth.

He was up until late drawing the shark and corals for me to use as patterns.

I love that man, the time we're spending together on this project is so special.
Don't leave him home. Sounds like he really had a lot of good finds for you. lol.
