I also folded some of my new fabrics in this way on Saturday and it is brilliant. A few down and many to go........

Quote: I have a 3" X 15" ruler. I fold over the fabric on the larger ruler, put the smaller one on top, matching the edges, roll the fabric then slide both rulers out.

QUESTION: what do you do with larger cuts, like 4 yards and above? The roll is so thick you can't fold it. Larger ruler?
I use my 3x15 for anything 1/2 yd or less, and anything 1 yd or more I use my 6x24 ruler. The inbetweens, it depends on whether it's a large scale print or not. I LOVE how my stash looks! (Old photo of my workspace, but you get the idea!)

Quote: I know this sounds crazy, but I use my bed with the bedspread folded down and use the fleece blanket on which I lay the fabric. It acts as traction and helps to keep the fabric neatly on the ruler. I just give the ruler with the fabric a tug as I roll.
Good idea! Thanks, Gail.
