You're too funny. Somehow those quilts we get sick of working with take on a new beauty after being apart. "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" and all that.

Seriously, though, I was also thinking "wow!" when I saw your quilt. I like all the vivid scrappies more than I would if it were only two colors. I admire people with the discipline to use only two, but so far I have not succeeded . That would be a great challenge (maybe a bore?) Maybe I could do two colors, but certainly would feel creatively pinched to use just two fabrics over and over, block after block.

As long as you have a stark contrasting solid background, I would think a controlled scrappy would look fab.

Years ago my quilt group made blocks for each other to exchange, I chose this pattern with all scrappy lights, greens and reds.

Kathy Tracy & Jo Morton both have patterns in their books for small quilt blocks.

Thanks for the ideas. I just added it to my bucket list. I have a cheddar cheese UFO, and this just might work to finish it.

I made a Jacobs ladder using 5 inch squares, very easy math the hst wind up 4 1/2 inch and your four patch winds up the same measurement. Now of course you can also make them any size you want but since the thread is about charm squares. Absolutely doable!

Thimblebug thanks for sharing this picture. I have some green and red fabrics that I don't know what to do with. Your quilt is an inspiration for me for sure
