I found a Janome 9000 on craiglist and was wondering if anyone has this machine and how you like it.

I LOVE MINE!!! I bought it brand new 12-13 years ago for top dollar and have gotten every penny's worth of use out of it. Not sure I will ever give this machine away.

I saw a Kenmore 9500 on the Yahoo group Sewitsforsale for about $650 the other night. Not sure if it is still there, but that's a steal of a buy. Janome makes Kenmore machines, so it's basically the same thing. Because the model number is a little higher than 9000, there is probably a little upgrade to it. How much is the one going for on Craig's list? I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for it.

Oh my gosh, if you're sure it works, I would definitely get it. And to think I paid thousands for mine all those years ago - makes me cringe.

I hope this is a real deal, because if it is, it's a wonderful machine.

I LOVE< LOVE my 9000. I'll be keeping it as my back-up machine when I purchase a new one soon. Only because I've used the heck out of it for 12 years and want a new one. But, it's a great machine. I won't give mine up until it croaks:> And even then, I'd cry.

Candace and I agree that we are not giving up our MC 9000 if/when we get another machine.

I hope this is real and that you can get it. Please keep us posted.

I just called him and I'm going to look at it tomorrow.
His wife has a long arm and a couple other machines, and its been sitting in her sewing room. They just had it cleaned and he said its like new.

Oh my gosh, I so hope this is true for you! You're the one getting the machine, but I'm the one who can't wait for it to happen!!!!

This is a computerized machine and need to be serviced by a qualified person. My hubby tried to clean my machine out and I ended up taking it into a qualified shop. You might want to ask where it was serviced last.

Oh and most importantly, be SAFE when you go look at this tomorrow.

I bought my 9000 about 15 yrs ago at a price of $3000. Also bought most of the cards to emb. that goes with it. I still use it but it is my backup machine as I now have the 10001> They are both work horses and never had a problem with either one. But like some one said, if it does need to be serviced etc. you need to take it to a certified repairman as it is computerized. Enjoy. You are getting a bargain.
