Janome, anyone?

when i heard about the 7700 i got a knot in my stomache. why? because i just treated myself to a 6600 in November. i was scared to death i wouldn't be able to resist the new one. (i wasn't even curious about the price. i assumed it would cost exactly whatever amount i had free on my credit card. that's just the way these things work. )
i was so relieved when i finally got to look at an advertisement for it. the 7700 definitely looks like one suweeeeeeet machine. i confess to a bit of drooling over the extra 2-12" of throat space. and they have added a couple of pretty nifty sounding features. but since it does not include a few of the things i like best about my 6600, and has a clear extension table (which would get on my nerves) i don't feel the urge to run out for a trade-in.
my heart goes out, though, to anybody who doesn't already have a 6600 and has to choose between the two. that would be a tough decision. i don't know which i'd pick.

Hi..I just got the Janome 6600P, and it is a wonderful machine..I love it too! There is a 6600, that is different than the Professional model. The dealer also has classes, that is included, where he teaches you things that are not in the book, its a 3 1/2 hr class, for 4 days....12 hours total.
I paid 1499.00, he wouldn't come down at all, and this was during his 'sale'. It is regularly 1999.00, but has been discontinued. The speed is one of the reasons I liked it, and the double needle option...I am sure you know all about it's options, though. It does not slide, or move, when quilting, and that's important to me too.

Don't have the 6600 or the 350 but have the 9700. Love my Janome. Where I purchased it also gave lessons. I've never purchased from a dealer who gave classes but from now on that will be my first question.

I too have the 6600P and absolutely love it. There is a Janome 6500-6600 group on Yahoo that has wonderful files and lots of smart members that have answered any questions I had about the machine. Check it out before or even after you buy. Marylou

I got the 6600P about a month ago. What an awesome machine! I have a Pfaff 2030 and I wouldn't buy any machine that doesn't have a built in walking foot. The Acufeed on the 6600 is awesome! I really hate the big clunky walking feet you have to attach
