I love the Bernina activa 220, BUT the throat is smaller than my old Singer!! It was very important to me to get a deeper throat, but I think they come with more stitches than I'd ever need--although boy are they FUN! My machine is 6.75", the Bernina is 6.25". I don't want to go shorter!!

I'm off to check Janomes... it's a hike.

The Janome 6500 and 6600 have a 9 1/2 inches.

I love my 6500.

Let us know what you think about the Janomes & any other ones you try. What fun you're going to have playing with all those machines.

This is terrible to do to you, but I will say I bought one. Which one, you ask? I'll answer that when I post photos... AFTER I've gotten used to it and know what I'm talking about.

I have a Bernina 640. I don't know what the throat size is tho because it is being cleaned right now and at the shop.

I didn't think I'd use all it has on it, but I find I do.
