Since the pattern is for 3" wide strips, easy enough to convert and use Jelly Rolls (cut background fabric into 2.5 inch strips also), and then cut the squares into 5 inches (instead of 5.5).

I would also probably put a border around it, just so the edges wouldn't be on the bias.
Yes, I used jelly rolls and cut the strips so they were square, which was 4.5" as others have pointed out. I didn't struggle at all with the bias edges. If I remember correctly (I made this quilt a long time ago) I starched the outer edges before attaching the binding. Starching helps no matter what you do to finish the quilt.

Thank you! My oldest son (25) actually claimed it as his. He likes it because "the colors are soft and summery".

Emma's Star is a great pattern for jelly roll strips. Here's one I made. The binding is made with them too.

That is just beautiful Peckish. I love the pastels. Is this your own design or did you use a pattern? If so name of it please. I have a couple friends in my quilting group that are NEW to sewing and quilting and this would be a great quilt for them to make. One of the ladies made 3 jelly roll race quilts. She is truly NEW to sewing period. She would love this. That quilt is literally yells SPRING.

You might also want to look at Cozy Quilt designs, Jordan's carries several of them or you can go to their website, but most of their quilts are designed specifically for jelly rolls and even though they might look complicated, they are quite easy to make. Donna Jordan has several videos showing you how to make their designs.

Here's one I just happened to find because of your question (Thanks!): https://www.quiltingbookspatternsand...nterlock-quilt

I'm putting it on my bucket list. There is a lot of a solid background, but I think that would be exceptionally good for setting off the interesting Tula Pink fabric.

Bizz Buzz Border?
