Good luck Joann shoppers, you will be there all day long. Gosh I get where I hate to go in there anymore because of the lines.

FYI - Rather than deal with all the lines, last year I did my Black Friday shopping at Joann's online. It was their first year of doing so (I think) and the online shoppers crashed their website for several hours - past the time for some of the specials. However, when their website finally came back up they honored all my purchases that I had been trying to buy before the crash. A lot of the major retailers have all their specials online now and it is great!

I'm waiting to see if any of the deals are online before going. I only want the sewing table and it will be worth it to walk in and get that one thing and get in line fast. I then will go back inside and browse. The store is about an hour's drive for me but I don't mind driving the distance. I don't pay for gas, DH does. LOL.

I do think all the deals are online....minus maybe some of the fabric..I dont think the selection is as big as online. Not sure what time you can start shopping online...12:00 am on Friday morning maybe

I used to be a Joann's store manager and we always dreaded Black Friday. Long lines, crabby customers...you get the picture. On the other hand, it was back in the day when one had to key all the long plu (price look-up) numbers. I got so good at it that now I impress people with how fast I am at keying the diagnosis codes at the hospital I work at. There's always good in everything if you look hard enough.

I'm not usually an on-line shopper but a co-worker said that most stores that market on-line have deals set up to get the same wonderful prices at 12:01am on Friday so you may check that out if you have already scouted what it is you want to buy.

Nope. I'm going today to buy some polar fleece for a project and then steering clear except as a driver. My sister and Mom are going to Joann's, but for some kind of Wilton item. I, on the other hand, will be hanging out at Barnes and Noble, hoping to snag a new low end Nook as a gift for my Mom. She keeps saying that she will retire at the end of the year (she is 77 and she has retired 3 times, complete with 2 parties).
