I just have basic monogramming on my machine so putting all that on a label would take up the whole back! LOL
Have you thought about putting a pocket on the back and writing your information on paper then tucking the paper into the pocket?

Oh wow, Carron.. Ya know I have never thought of that. Hmmm... I will keep that in mind for my next one. TY!!

Kinda sad how the simplist things just float right by me most days. LOL

it depends on the quilt and who/why
i've been known to write a whole story on a label--
i've very much personalized a few- like the one to a wonderful lady with breast cancer who had been through so much during a very long-dreary winter-
the quilts for my family are quite personal-
sometimes i just add the basics, name, date, place, fiber content and care instructions (if it's a quilt that is a sale quilt- i don't know who will own it) but if it's a personal gift quilt they labels are normally much more involved.

Last spring I finished a quilt for my mom that included pieces that her mother had cut out. It had a very cool, detailed story and I documented it all so that many years after I'm dead and gone, my great nieces and nephews know the story - or if the quilt ends up in someone else's possession, they know it.

I will always label the quilt w/ dates and places and try to personalize it for the person I am quilting it for.
