My daughter graduated from college in NJ and I had many "quilt" road trips when I visited. I went up and down the coast and found some neat shops.
I bought fat 1/4s from each shop as I was making a grandmothers flower garden quilt and they went into that quilt top.
    fun memories.

I lived in New Jersey for 67 years before I retired to Pennsylvania. New Jersey does not have a lot of quilt shops. It does, however, have very large fabric stores. Joann's is an example. There's a large fabric store on Route 22, which is a lovely store. It has home dec fabric, ready made items, and quilting fabric in the back of the store. They also give classes. Wish I could remember the name of it, but Google fabric stores in New Jersey.

As a matter of fact, I didn't know there were quilt shops until I moved to Pennsylvania. There's lots of them here. They're small shops with nice people running them and classes from people who have been quilting for years. They tend to be a little more expensive, however, than a large fabric store.

    Good luck on your search.

Hello - you had a response earlier from my quilting cousin "Just Janet" and she left out one quilt shop, right in Montclair! It's called (I think) "I've Got A Notion" and has a good selection of fabric and every sewing notion ever invented since the dawn of time. I know she mentioned our small guild in Secaucus, about 20 minutes from Montclair, maybe you'd like to join us. She told me she'd received a message from you, maybe we'll see you one day.
