I did not need one, but they are so cute and usable, that I just compared it to my husbands guns, that he dose not use at all any more. Also would not give up one for anything.

I laughed out loud when I started reading this! I bought a featherweight this past week...because my husband enjoys going to each and every football game there is during football season. I told him I knew I already have 3 other machines, that I use, but I NEEDED this one because she was so cute and because I have been wanting one AND because I just needed it to keep me happy while he was out being happy at the football games. I never complain about his games. I actually enjoy the quiet Friday nights. It's extra quilting time for me, but it sure made me come up with a really good excuse for purchasing something I didn't really need, but then I really DID NEED it... It had this uncanny pull on me!

My dh salmon and tuna fishes and his poles cost around $100 and that does not include the reels, the line, the boat gas, the this, the that, and on and on.

tell him that you need the lighter weight machine to carry to quilting classes. It will save trips to the chiropractor from lugging your heavy machine around.

Here's how I justify it:

Does fishing put food on the table? Yes, if you clean the fish and cook it.

Does quilting put food on the table? Yes, if you sell one so you can go out to dinner.

No brainer!
