I have one like that. It came with a wood insert. (I had to pick which machine I wanted it for). It's not a Gidget but is by the same company and I love it. I actually use it for my Grand Quilter, my regular Pfaff, and my 301. It goes from the recessed position to the flat one in a moment and is VERY sturdy. I am 100% pleased with it.

I have one that looks like it but the insert is something laminated. Very hard. I have used it for years for a second machine when sewing. I can't remember where I bought it - maybe Hancock's. I surely did not pay anything like that for it. It has held up well.

I don't know who made mine, but I have one that is the same as this one. I was lucky enough to pick it up for 25 bucks at a park and swap a few years ago. I can use what ever machine I want to in it as it allows me to raise and lower the 'bed' that the machine sits on. Here is another site with the same type of table.
