Default Kicking off Bonnie Hunter's 2013 Mystery ~ Celtic Solstice

Am wondering once she has done the end of mystery reveal, if we think back to her quilt cams if we can see her version being pieced

Carrying on from the resources forum thread found here:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/links-r...e-t233227.html

I hope those of you that have blogs will share your progress there too, for the weekly linkies

This will be my forth Bonnie Mystery, I love them because they are complicated and have lots of pieces.
I'm using almost solids this year in jewel tones and planning on the smaller version. I don't need any more big quilts.

Am wondering once she has done the end of mystery reveal, if we think back to her quilt cams if we can see her version being pieced

I plan on using Inklingo for this mystery. No measuring! http://www.lindafranz.com/blog/bonni...nklingo-intro/

I think she's pretty careful about not doing the mystery quilt during quilt cam. I have had fun trying to guess the layout as each step comes along. I did last year's, but I'm not too sure I'll have the time this year. I will look forward to seeing how it shapes up!

There is a Facebook group set up that is trying to keep each other on task. That may be a big job. It's called Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice if anyone is interested.

Anyone else doing different colors? I've done the last three mysteries in Bonnie' s colors, but think I'm going with more muted, old fashioned colors this year. I don't have many brights so will go with neutrals, yellows/golds, red to orange, olive greens, and civil war blues. I'm really trying to pull these from my stash.

I also used Bonnie's colors on Easy Street & Lazy Sunday. But lack the brighter colors she is using. And I really want to use scraps and stash. So I am using creams ( as neutrals) yellow/gold, olive greens, deep reds, dark blues.

I have always changed the colors, not because hers aren't my taste (if it's fabric I like it!) but because I've been working from stash since 2001 so have to draw from what I have. I'm doing jewel tones this year, the small size.

Quilt cam tonight in a few minutes.

I'm doing the small size too. I'm using Bonnie's colors but in Civil War Repros - indigo, cheddar, chrome, poison with shirtings. I'm not an orange fan, but one of my kids is, so I may modify to fit a smaller bed.

My toes are wiggling in my shoes...7 days

I used 1800's reproduction 2 years ago, probably my favorite finished mystery.
Last year I finished the quilt but I hated the 3" squares, if I were to do the pattern again I'd turn the 3" squares into something pieced.
On the other hand where she had the grey constant double rows around the focus blocks, fantastic design element!

I am anxious to get started too! And I have SO much to get done before I can join in. I HAVE done my stash diving, so I cannot delay on my promised projects ANYMORE! lolol :::cracking the whip:::: I will be using Bonnie's colors with what ever I have left over in an applique project I am planning to do in 2014. We will see how far I get. (I always have such BIG plans!)
