Default koala cabinet opinions wanted

I went to the NJ Quiltfest today and fell in love/lust with a Koala QuiltPro Plus IV. They were running a show special which includes free shipping and a free chair. The package, with the outback leaf extension, 2 acrylic or wood machine inserts, and increased height of 3"is $3025. Am I crazy to consider this? If anyone has one of these cabinets, please give me your opinion.

If you love it and can afford it, BUY IT. I paid 500.00 for a cabinet 20 years ago, my husband thought I was crazy, but I still us it, and love it.

I have one....and I LOVE it! I just bought the chair yesterday (still in the box). I am curious, though, about the 3" height. What is the advantage of that?

Enjoy!

Everyone has their priorities... I was using an old desk until I was gifted a lovely home made sewing desk from a friend. Personally I can't consider such a purchase, but in another world in another lifetime....maybe. You need to do what makes you feel good and what you feel is right for you. I'm looking forward to hearing about & seeing other members who may have this set up. I can't say that I won't be envious though......

I have a Horn sewing table and I love it! Very similar to the Koala. Lots of storage, opens to twice the surface area, and I love that the machine drops down so you have a level sewing surface. I don't think you will regret buying the table. Take advantage of the free shipping because these things weigh a ton!

Personally, I wouldn't spend that much on a desk/cabinet. If I had that money to spend, I'd rather spend it on a Bailey quilting machine and frame, but if you have the money and it isn't going to cause financial problems and you want it, then go for it, it's all a personal choice.

I purchased the QuiltMate Plus IV in Oct of 2011 and absolutely LOVE it! I saw it at a craft fair and got a similar package deal like you are talking about. I was very happy with the entire process from ordering through delivery and setup. I haven't had any issues or problems with it at all. Love the Outback leaf extension as well. I did purchase the shelves for under the extension - they provide a lot of additional storage. The chair is very comfy too!

I have that exact table and I love it. It was in the package deal with my Bernina 830, so I can't tell you exactly what I paid, but I do enjoy it.

I think the Koala cabinets are beautiful - well constructed and will last forever. I work at a quilt shop that carries Koala and we have several samples in the store. I drool over them!! I did give in and get a Koala chair for my sewing room and I love it. I think I'll be sitting in it for years to come...

I can't advise you on that particular model of the Koala, but I do have a Koala cabinet and have been using it for 12 years and I love it. It is still in A1 condition and I would always buy again. Good choice.
