Default Koala table for Bernina 880

Hi. I have a question. I have a Bernina 880 (that intimidates me). It is fairly new, and we haven't gotten to know each other very well. It is housed in a Koala cabinet. When using the embroidery function, does the table piece that makes the surface flat need to be in the opening, with the machine sitting on top, or can the machine remain in the lift?

Hope this makes sense!

The lift needs to be all the way up and the machine needs to be sitting on top of the cabinet. It can still be sitting on the lift, you don't have to put the solid piece of wood in. The important thing is for the machine to be connected to the embroidery unit on a solid level surface. The 2 units need to be on the same level.

That’s correct. I too have a new Bernina with an embroidery module which I have not yet removed from the box...and will have to use the lift on my table to bring it up flush with the table top before attaching the embroidery module. Thanks summitbay for explaining that it can still be left on the lift part.
