I agree. A big print would look better in a big block. It just stands to reason.

This is a useful question. I have fabrics for a baby quilt, including one with pictures of diggers, trains, planes etc that are 4in square. I've been wondering how to use them, and a D9P might be a simple answer, cutting 4.5in squares. Thanks for the idea!

I think I may go with the six inch, did baby quilt in one or an 8 inch. Thanks for all your comments.

I have used 8 inch blocks...it's too big for a baby quilt but looks great with big prints on larger quilts.

Actually I think I am going to do this D9P, the Pinwheel Toss. I like pinwheels and I like how the D9P looks, figure it is a good combination. Decided to do the starting block 6 inches, the pinwheels will start at 9 inches to finish off at 6. Here is the address that has the directions to this quilt. Thanks again.
