I would get in trouble with that. Better that I pay up front.

It says they send the fabric after the last payment has been made. Otherwise... they might never get paid! You know how money has a habit of leaking away... by the time they tried to charge the customer's credit card for the final installment, the money might not be there.

Thank goodness I am into instant gratification otherwise, I would be in BIG trouble.

For what it's worth, from my personal perspective, it seems to be a really good idea, win-win for consumer and shop owner.

    Consumer perks:
--can better "afford" shop prices. Doling it out a bit at a time takes so much sting out of it.
    --it's easier on the budget.
--able to purchase new lines as they debut and not have to scramble all over trying to get the collection from multiple shops.
--don't have to wait until you have all the money.
--the agonizing anticipation of knowing it's there.

    Shop perks:
    --happy customers.
    --guaranteed sales.
--can better anticipate fabric selections to carry.
    --increased sales.
    --repeat customers.
    --word of mouth traffic.
    --possible trend-setting???

Not sure monetarily how it would work to benefit the shop when a layaway is canceled. Now they have a specific size piece to resell. So would it be done "as is" or marked down and clearanced?

Either way, I'm attracted to the idea and may try it out after looking into it more.

Too tempting!! But I also like to get my fabric ASAP, so probably would never use it.
