Save the leftover bindings and use them on a scrap quilt. The more different bindings the better.

I cut my bindings at 2.25". When I'm cutting and sorting scraps and the scrap piece isn't big enough for 2.5", but I can get a binding strip out of it, it goes in my binding box with leftover binding. When I do a scrappy quilt, I will have plenty to choose from.

See my avatar quilt? Lots of biding surpluses there.

Or you can use them to bind a placement/mugrug/hotpad.

I accumulate them and use them on scrappy quilts for their binding.

I save them and use them on another project -- usually piecing the binding for a scrappy quilt or a small project.

I love to use scrappy bindings on scrappy quilts.... I always make extra, roll it up and keep in a drawer to be used later for bindings or trim binding on potholders or any number of other projects.

Check out the 1600 quilt pattern. It is mad from jelly rolls which are 2 and 1/2ins wide
